Meaning of the song "Spiritual Warfare"

Given the holiday season, it is easy to get sucked into human traditions and popular culture regarding Christmas. I myself am guilty. The enemy hates Christmas and uses anything he can to keep us from remembering the truth behind why we even celebrate Christmas in the first place. The birth of Christ is the starting point of the Gospel. The Gospel is the Birth, Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Without the birth there is no Gospel. There is a spiritual warfare that takes place on many new or mature Christians in this world during Christmas season.

For myself, Christmas has always been a time to spend irresponsibly, over eat, please people with gifts, drink and drug, slack off at work, and many other holiday engagements and shenanigans. There are a lot of temptations during this time of year for many people. I have to stay vigilant and remember the Gospel and what Jesus did for me, how he chased me and will go to war for me whenever I need him to. My song "Spiritual Warfare" is a tribute to God and a recognition of the spiritual warfare that occurs in and around me, sometimes on a daily basis.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Cor 10:13).
